Quality Assurance Program Assistance and Audits

AC Customers
Mini Audit - Please read

Are you storing your cans in a good location? Are they sealed in a plastic bag wile in storage?
At least once every 20 measurements send in a can from your can storage area and then the next 20 send in a can that was placed at the test location but was not opened at any point in time.
Do you have and make available the Home Buyers & Sellers Guide to your customers?
Are you keeping a list of number of tests you do, the results (on a chart) of your duplicates and spikes, and are you tracking your exposure?
Are you using door signs and getting closed house agreements signed and if not are you documenting why not?
Do you have an audit form to audit your program? If not copy this and fill in each topic and you have done your audit.

QA Program Assistance

Things To Know

Know what regulations apply to you and follow the regulations.  Every state and country is different.
Have a commensurate with scope QA plan and follow it along with everything else the overseeing entity gave you to do.

1 set of passive devices (duplicates) counts as 2 devices. So every 50 sets of dups would require you to do spikes.
A Spike chart has a control limit of 30% but somehow some folks are using 25% - which is more restrictive anyway.
Use door signs and get closed house agreements signed.
Communicate with all parties involved. Explain the process and what their responsibility is.
Closed house conditions SHALL be in place 12 hours before you start a test lasting less than 4 days.
Pay attention to CHC  and test appropriately.

If your equipment has a 12 hour delay you could establish CHC, set device to delay and then run just a 2 day test. You may have to close up the house and come back in 4 days instead of 2 days so communicate clearly so your scheduling does not get messed up.
Use the free resources.
Network and educate don't tolerate.

Remember that you are the expert so make sure that people let you do your job-you are the one that will get in trouble.
Keep your exposure ALARA.
